The Kwoi Youth Progressive Association (KWOYOPA) has made an urgent appeal to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State to prioritize the renovation of Government Secondary School Ngarshang Kwoi, which has fallen into severe disrepair.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Comrade Aminu Bako, president of KWOYOPA, drew attention to the deteriorating state of the school, one of the oldest secondary institutions in Jaba Local Government. According to Bako, the school’s infrastructure is in critical condition, with classrooms lacking basic amenities such as windows, chairs, and proper roofing. Some students have even resorted to sitting on stones, as the shortage of furniture has become a pressing issue.

“The condition of the school is deeply concerning,” Bako said. “Many classrooms are no longer usable due to leaking roofs, broken windows, and a lack of proper furniture. It’s disheartening to see students forced to sit on stones instead of chairs, making the learning environment extremely uncomfortable and unsafe.”

GSS Ngarshang Kwoi has a rich history of producing successful professionals, including doctors, engineers, professors, and even members of the House of Representatives. Bako emphasized that the school has long been a pillar of the community, playing a key role in shaping the lives of many individuals who have gone on to make significant contributions in various fields. He stressed that this legacy must not be allowed to fade due to neglect.

“This school has been a source of pride for our community, having contributed significantly to the development of the region and beyond,” Bako said. “We are calling on Governor Uba Sani to help restore this institution to its former glory, ensuring that future generations can continue to benefit from the quality education it has historically provided.”

KWOYOPA’s appeal comes as many schools in the region face similar challenges with inadequate infrastructure. The association’s call highlights the urgent need for government action to address the deteriorating conditions in educational institutions across Kaduna State.

The group hopes that Governor Uba Sani will respond to their plea and take the necessary steps to ensure that GSS Ngarshang Kwoi is restored to a safe and conducive learning environment for future students.
