The Acting Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON for bringing to fruition the dream of having a University Teaching Hospital in the state.
According to a statement by Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, Ag. Director, University Relations, “this followed
the Governor’s assent to the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital Law, 2024, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Government House, Ilorin”.
The Acting Vice Chancellor noted that the Governor had immediately begun to move for the upgrade of the Ilorin General Hospital to the status of a teaching hospital immediately the need was presented to him for teaching hospital facilities that will aid the production of medical doctors by the state’s flagship institution, Kwara State University, Malete.
Professor Jimoh stated that the commitment shown to the realisation of the goal was truly inspirational, depicting how impactful leadership focused on translating the needs of the people into tangible projects.
He added that the teaching hospital would do more than train exceptional medical personnel but also upgrade access to qualitative healthcare for the people.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor emphasised Kwara State University’s appreciation and renewed commitment to supporting the Governor’s administration in driving the state to greater glory.
