…..Calls for massive enrolments of voting age Kwarans

    Stephen Olufemi Oni, Ilorin

The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has called on its supporters and members at home and in the Diaspora to take advantage of the ongoing online enrolments by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to register new members as well young Kwarans who are just attaining voting ages across the state .

The party in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara on Tuesday in Ilorin, said PDP members across the state and particularly critical stakeholders, party officials including aspirants into various offices, should take this exercise as topmost priority in their various constituencies, noting that the exercise is a vital component of “our Rescue Kwara struggle for 2027”.

The statement urged members to prioritise the process and equip themselves with the voters’ cards to enable them vote in the 2027 elections to “right the wrongs in the state”.

“We want to remind our members that the PVC issued by INEC remains the only legal instrument potential voters need to correct the current insecurity, hardship and absentee leadership that have been holding sway in Kwara since 2019. Our leader and President of the 8th Senate, HE Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON) reinforced this during his last interactions with stakeholders from across the state during his last homecoming.

“As such, all of our members, particularly party stakeholders, officials and those aspiring for one elective office or the other are enjoined to prioritise compliance in their various constituencies .

“New voters can pre-register on the INEC portal via this web address cvr.inecnigeria.org,” the statement admonished.

Adewara said some of the features on the portal allow registered voters to update their personal information or transfer their voter registration to another polling unit. He stressed that new voters are only required to fill and upload their forms on the portal after entering their biodata and required documents, after which they are expected to visit an INEC state or local government office to provide their fingerprints and other details to complete the registration and obtain their voter’s cards.

“We are by this statement calling on all members, supporters , aspirants and all support groups of PDP in Kwara to go out and register new members and particularly youths who have just transitioned to voting age to register in the ongoing INEC CVR to ensure our people are not only prepared in talking but also prepared with actions capable to effect the #RescueKwara vision aimed at returning good governance and sense of security for our people.”
