    Kogi Guber: SDP calls for the disbandment of Kogi RRS,CP orders investigation

    The Social Democratic party, SDP has called for the disbandment of the state Rapid response Squad led by CSP Femi Ojo for allegedly allowing himself to be used for ochestrating violence in parts of the Eastern Senatorial Districts.

    The Chairman of the Muri/Sam Campaign council, Colonel Suleiman Babanawa (rtd) who briefed the press on Thursday following the violence that erupted on Wednesday in Ajaka town said that there were ample evidence pointing to CEP Femi Ojo as the principal architect of that violence.

    We in SDP as law abiding citizens call on the Inspector general of police to instruct the Kogi state police Commissioner,Cp Bernard Onuoha to disband the squad and remove the CSP Femi Ojo as he has overstay his welcome in the area.

    “From our records,we found out that CSP Femi Ojo has spent about six years there and had become spent force supporting illegalities in Kogi East”

    According to him,”we in SDP wants power but not through violence and illegalities,we are going to do everything legally possible to wrestle power from them.” Babanawa said.

    Meanwhile,the Kogi state Commissioner of police,Cp Bernard Onuoha has ordered an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the violence in Idah.
    The Commissioner of Police while condemning the incident noted that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department has been tasked to commence investigation.

    He reiterates the Command’s unwavering commitment to continue to engage the critical stakeholders in Election Security Management to ensure a secure environment for electoral process.

    He Said “the Command is ever determined in providing a level playing ground for all Political Parties as they embark on campaigns, rallies, procession among others. would-be trouble makers who are hell bent on causing violence and to undermine the credibility of the electoral process in the State to stay away from such act as the Police in synergy with other Security Agencies in Election Security Management will not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone caught disrupting the electoral process”. He said.
