    Kogi Assembly probe: MANGAL Industry to build 52 housing units for host Community

    THE on-going probe embarked upon by Kogi State House of Assembly into the activities of companies and industries operating in the state is beginning to yield positive results as Iluagba in Ijumu Local Government Area of the state which hosts MANGAL Industry Limited has proposed to relocate residents whose houses are close to its plant to a better environment.

    The company has also concluded plan s to build 52 units of different brick houses for them.

    The Managing Director, MANGAL Industry Limited, Alhaji Fahad Dahiru made this known while fielding questions from journalists during Kogi State House of Assembly Adhoc Investigative Hearing held at Edgedrive Hotel Lokoja.

    According to Fahad Dahiru, the Federal Ministry of Environment had advised the industry to relocate residents who are close to the plant and build for them block buildings.

    The residents whose mud and thatch buildings in the host community, Iluagba, are about 52 and they will be compensated with one ,two and three bed room flats.

    He said that the industry had earlier contributed to the supply of farm inputs , provided portable water and electricity for the community.

    Dahiru however said he would make available to newsmen the money worth of the cost of the 52 housing units when it is ready.

    Earlier at the sitting ,the Managing Director had revealed that the industry bought the land from the community and submitted some documents to the Adhoc Committee.

    The industry is to reappear before the committee on another scheduled date for further questions.
