First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has been recognised by the Lagos Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) for its contributions to technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, audit, assurance and digital trust in Nigeria.
The recognition was presented to the bank at the ISACA Lagos Chapter’s 30th anniversary celebration held in Lagos on August 21, 2026.
FCMB’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yemisi Edun, received the commemorative plaque on behalf of the bank in recognition of its support for digital trust and professional development.
Edun said FCMB valued its partnership with ISACA, noting that effective technology governance and cybersecurity had become increasingly critical as financial services continued to rely heavily on digital platforms.
“We value our partnership with ISACA. This honour reflects our shared commitment to strengthening the professional capabilities and standards that underpin digital trust,” she said.
She added that the growing dependence of financial institutions on technology made sound governance, cybersecurity, risk management and assurance essential to institutional resilience and customer protection.
“As financial services become more technology-driven, sound governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and assurance will remain essential to institutional resilience, customer protection, and sustainable economic growth,” Edun said.
She expressed confidence that ISACA would continue to strengthen the capacity of technology professionals to respond to emerging risks while taking advantage of opportunities created by the digital economy.
Also speaking at the event, ISACA Global Chief Executive Officer, Erik Prusch, commended Nigeria’s information technology and cybersecurity professionals for their experience and resilience.
Prusch stressed the importance of developing a skilled workforce capable of helping organisations adapt to technological changes, manage emerging risks and maximise the opportunities presented by new technologies.
The President of the ISACA Lagos Chapter, Justus Osuji, said the 30th anniversary provided an opportunity to reflect on three decades of professional service, leadership and knowledge development.
He highlighted the chapter’s contributions to information systems auditing, cybersecurity, governance, risk management, compliance and emerging technologies in Nigeria and beyond.
The recognition comes as financial institutions increasingly strengthen their technology and cybersecurity frameworks amid the rapid adoption of digital banking and other technology-enabled financial services.
FCMB said it would continue to invest in digital capabilities, technology infrastructure, cybersecurity and risk management as part of its efforts to provide secure, convenient and reliable financial services to individuals, businesses and institutions.
Founded in 1969, ISACA is a global professional association focused on information technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management and information systems auditing. The association has members across 188 countries and more than 225 chapters worldwide.
The partnership between FCMB and ISACA reflects the growing importance of professional standards, technology governance and cybersecurity in strengthening confidence and resilience within Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital financial ecosystem.
