Kanayo explains Davido’s controversial remarks about Nigerian economy

    Published on

Kanayo O Kanayo, a seasoned Nollywood actor, has supported musician Davido’s divisive comments regarding Nigeria’s economy.

Davido had during his participation on ‘The Big Homies House’ podcast in the US, emphasized Nigeria’s difficulties, adding that “It is not cool back home. The economy is in complete disarray.

This was said by Davido when he cautioned Black Americans against moving to Nigeria.

His comments, which many Nigerians found offensive, have been criticized ever since, and some have even called for an apology from him.

Kanayo responded to the incident by defending the singer’s right to free expression and asserting that Davido made the remarks in order to represent the impoverished Nigerians in the midst of the nation’s economic crisis.

In an Instagram video, Kanayo stated: “@davido voiced his mind, isn’t it? Respect his opinions as well. The Adelek family can live forever, yet it would be unholy for them to believe that everything is well because they are.

“Make sure you don’t bother Davido because of his remark. He made the remark in good faith, and it is protected speech. It is up to the people in charge to put in more effort so that Nigeria can improve.

Why does he need to apologize, according to some people? People that are critical of us want the best for us. Davido advocates for other undernourished Nigerians.
