The military high command has announced the completion of its investigation into the tragic bombing incident in Tudun Biri village, Igabi LGA of Kaduna State. The probe revealed serious lapses, leading to the indictment of two Nigerian Army officers who will face court-martial proceedings for their roles in the incident.

Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, made this disclosure during a press briefing at Defence Headquarters, Abuja. The incident, which occurred on December 3, 2023, resulted in numerous casualties and injuries among innocent civilians who had gathered in Tudun Biri to celebrate the Maulud.

The mistaken drone bombing, attributed to a misjudgment by the Nigerian Army, drew widespread condemnation and calls for accountability. The investigation report, now submitted to the appropriate authorities, sheds light on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

While details of the findings were not fully disclosed during the briefing, Buba emphasized the seriousness of the errors leading to the operation and reiterated the military’s commitment to upholding accountability and preventing such incidents in the future.
