Anambra State Government has announced the suspension of the monthly sanitation exercise in the State.

Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

He said the suspension was to enable students writing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination tomorrow, Saturday, April 26, 2025 go about the exercise without hitches.

He encouraged people of the state to maintain cleanliness in their homes and environment, embracing the cleanliness is next to godliness’ principle.

The statement reads, “Anambrra State Government wishes to inform the general public that the suspension of the monthly sanitation exercise in Anambra State by Mr Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, remains in force.

“Consequently, the sanitation exercise will not prevent students writing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination tomorrow, Saturday, April 26, 2025.

“Mr Governor’s belief that sanitation should be a daily practice, rather than a monthly ritual necessitated the directive to suspend the monthly sanitation exercise months ago.

“He encourages Ndi Anambra to maintain cleanliness in their homes and environment daily, embracing the principle that cleanliness is next to godliness.

“Accordingly, Ndị Anambra are advised to go about their normal activities every Saturday, including students sitting for the JAMB examination this Saturday.”
