Anambra State Government has commenced further training for state’s enforcement agencies, including Agunechemba, Ocha Brigade, and the Anti-Touts Squad.

Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, in a statement on Tuesday, said the extra training was part of decisions reached at the 13th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) Meeting at the LightHouse, Awka, on Monday.

He said a Code of Conduct would be issued for all operatives after the training.

“Recognising the need for enhanced security and service delivery, the Council gave the state’s enforcement agencies—including Agunechemba, Ocha Brigade, and the Anti-touts Squad high marks for their performance.

“However, to strengthen their capabilities and guarantee more accountability and responsive enforcement across all sectors, it was reported that further training for the operatives had begun, and a Code of Conduct would be issued for all operatives after the training.

“A Startup Business Incubation Programme run by the Solution Innovation District (SID) to assist early-stage businesses in 2025 was also approved by the Anambra State Executive Council.

“This special business startup training supports Mr. Governor’s goal of promoting innovation-led growth and establishing Anambra as a centre for entrepreneurship and technology.

“The programme, which will be offered in two batches of eight-week cohorts, will develop tech-enabled, scalable solutions in important fields like education, health, fintech, and agriculture.

“Through a final Demo Day, participating individuals will receive investor access, business registration, technical and legal support, and mentorship.

“Over 30,000 people have received digital skills training from the Solution Innovation District thus far, making them employable both domestically and internationally,” the statement read.

The commissioner hinted that one of the projects considered and awarded was the approval of the sum of ₦253,167,28.13 for the construction of Onwurah Street, beside Township Stadium, Awka, by the Anambra Road Management Agency (ARMA).

He said the newly constructed Solution Market and Park, Ekwulobia, was scheduled for commissioning on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

“The project is part of the Soludo Government’s urban regeneration of the major cities in the state,” he hinted.

Mefor further disclosed that the Council commended Ndi-Anambra’s outstanding attendance at the Solution Fun City, Awka Grand Opening.

“Ndi-Anambra and visitors were complimented by the ANSEC for their attendance in huge numbers at the grand launch of Solution Fun City, Awka.

“Now open for use to the public, the Solution Fun City (Leisure Park), which includes a family fun centre, an amusement park, a water park, and an international country club, serves the leisure needs of all categories of people,” he added.
