Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s family home has reportedly been invaded by unidentified thugs brandishing cutlasses and guns.
The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday in Kogi State’s Okehi Local Government Area, specifically in the Obeiba-Ihima area.
In a post on his X handle on Thursday, Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist specializing in the Lake Chad region, revealed this.
According to Makama’s intelligence sources, the event was reported to security officials by Yakubu Ovanja, the senator’s chief security officer.
As per the security expert, Ovanja disclosed that the assault took place at approximately one in the morning and involved a minimum of three armed persons who damaged the structure, including breaking glass panes.
“A group of security personnel from Okehi Division quickly rushed to the scene after receiving a distress signal. Although there have been no confirmed casualties or arrests, the location has been recorded, and first inquiries have begun.
According to police sources, the attack’s motivation is still unknown as the inquiry is ongoing, Makama stated.
As of the time of writing, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, a well-known politician in the Kogi Central Senatorial District, has not made a public statement.
