Important Update for Student Loan Beneficiaries on NELFUND Portal

    Published on

The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) wishes to inform all student loan beneficiaries that disbursement status can be independently verified via their personal dashboard on the NELFUND portal.
Students are hereby reminded that there are two reliable forms of notification confirming that their student loan has been disbursed:
    1. Upkeep Disbursement Alert—This applies only to students who applied for the Upkeep component of the loan.
    2. Dashboard Notification—Under the “Loans” section of the portal, the School Loan History clearly shows:
    • Tracking ID
    • Date of Disbursement
    • Status (e.g., Disbursed)
    • Loan Type (e.g., Institutional Fee)
    • Academic Session
If the status shows “Disbursed”, this means NELFUND has successfully transferred the institutional fee to the student’s school. This is the official confirmation of payment.
Students are advised to check their portal regularly and use this information when engaging with their institutions. In cases where a disbursed loan is denied by an institution, students should escalate the matter to NELFUND via our official communication channels.
This is part of our ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and empowering students with accurate, real-time updates on their loan status.
For any further assistance, please reach out to our support team via our website or social media handles.
    Signed,
    Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi
    Director, Strategic Communications
