The management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Plc has issued a stern warning to customers regarding the assault of its staff, emphasizing that such actions now carry legal consequences, including potential jail terms.

In a statement released by the Managing Director, Mr. Kingsley Achife, on Tuesday in Ilorin, customers were urged to refrain from resorting to violence and instead report any complaints or issues to IBEDC offices or through the customer care line at 07001239999.

Achife stressed the commitment of IBEDC’s technical teams to promptly address and resolve any faults that may occur during this period, emphasizing the importance of cooperation from customers in ensuring efficient service delivery.

Additionally, customers were cautioned against tampering with electrical installations due to the potential dangers associated with such actions, which could lead to electrical accidents.

In light of the Eid-El-Fitr celebration, Achife extended felicitations to Muslims and all Nigerians, underscoring the significance of the season’s spirit of sacrifice in fostering love and selflessness for the nation’s prosperity.

Furthermore, IBEDC reiterated its dedication to providing quality service, even during holidays, and urged communities to remain vigilant in safeguarding electrical installations against vandalism. Communities were encouraged to report any suspected acts of vandalism to prevent disruptions in power supply, particularly during the holiday period.

To facilitate seamless transactions, IBEDC highlighted various hassle-free payment channels available to customers for bill settlements and vending. These channels include the IBEDCPAY app for Android and iOS users, FetsWallet, Quickteller, Payarena, Jumia, Watu, Buypower, and ATM services.

Finally, IBEDC assured customers that its offices would remain open during public holidays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to address customer needs, with inquiries also welcomed via email at [email protected].
