Peter Obi has reiterated his position that he won the 2023 presidential election, insisting that the official results did not reflect what transpired at the polls.

Speaking on the Naija Unfiltered podcast on Saturday, he maintained that his campaign secured victory despite the outcome declared by electoral authorities.

He said the announced results did not align with his votes, adding that the system produced an outcome different from the reality.

“I can show you today that, as far as I am concerned, I ran for the office of the President of Nigeria and won. But the system decided otherwise, and they know it,” he said.

Obi repeated the claim for emphasis, insisting that his side won the election but was not officially declared the winner.

Obi contested the 2023 presidential election on the platform  of the Labour Party and was officially recorded as having polled about six million votes.

The courts upheld the declared outcome, meaning the legal system did not find sufficient grounds to overturn it.

The election, however, was widely regarded as controversial, with observers noting irregularities and system failures.

Obi also recorded strong performances in some areas, including Abuja and Lagos, which fueled belief in some quarters that the outcome did not reflect the true voting pattern.
