A civil advocacy group, the Concerned Nigerians Alliance, (CNA) has called on President Bola Tinubu to investigate the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration service, Kemi NanDap over the circumstances surrounding the movement, arrest of six polish nationals and detention of 76 individuals including a tailor from Niger Republic accuse of mass profucinging Russian flags.
According to the group, the NIS under the command of the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service has thrown the country into a diplomatic row without proper check of the arrested Polish nationals at the point of entry.
The CNA, led by Dr. Fidelis Ladoke, said the movement of the Polish nationals and their involvement in the #EndBadGovernance# protests is a clear indication that the NIS is playing with its constitutional duty under NanDap.
Ladoke said despite the arrest of the 76 individuals including a tailor from Niger Republic accuse of producing Russian flags, President Tinubu should take a holistic look at the NIS and direct the the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo to step up his supervision of heads of agencies under his ministry rather than hobnobbing with them.
He noted that the poor handling of the foreigners and total lack of surveillance resulting in their alleged roles in the nationwide protest leaves much to be desired.
