Hon. Yohanna Gajere, a stakeholder of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former chairmanship aspirant in Jaba Local Government Area, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a notable political shift in the region.
Gajere announced his defection on Friday at the APC ward office in Ankung, where he arrived alongside a large number of supporters. His move is widely regarded as a strategic realignment ahead of upcoming political activities in Jaba Local Government.
Addressing party members and supporters, Gajere reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani. He expressed optimism that his new affiliation with the APC would not only enhance his political prospects but also provide a stronger platform to attract meaningful development to his community.
“I am committed to contributing positively to the growth of the party and ensuring that our people benefit from good governance,” he stated. He also urged APC leaders in Jaba to remain receptive to new ideas from incoming members.
The APC Chairman in Jaba Local Government Area, Daniel Gauji Gwada, welcomed Gajere into the party, describing his defection as a significant boost to the party’s strength in the area. He encouraged both new and existing members to remain committed and proactive in advancing the party’s objectives.
Gwada further praised Gajere’s political experience, noting that his inclusion would enhance the party’s ability to deliver impactful grassroots initiatives.
The event attracted a large gathering of party faithful, marked by goodwill messages and a shared sense of optimism about the party’s future in the local government.
Gajere’s defection is seen as a strategic addition to the APC’s growing influence in Jaba, as he seeks to leverage his experience to promote development and deepen political engagement in the region.
