The Sole Administrator of the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Chris Ohizu, has been decapitated by unknown gunmen.

The council boss who was abducted a few days ago, was butchered on Sunday after his abductors allegedly received N6 million as ransom.

Video of his beheading surfaced online on Sunday, where his killers insisted that there would be no election in the country.

The video was posted on Ohizu WhatsApp status early Monday morning, In the video, sighted by Leadership Newspaper, the gunmen were seen beheading Ohizu at a yet-to-be-identified location.

The gunmen, who spoke in the Imo dialect, also sent out threats to the Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma.

Another source told The Punch, “The sole administrator has been beheaded. We saw videos of how he was being beheaded on Sunday. His killers posted it with his phone on his own WhatsApp status. That was how people got to know that he was beheaded.

“The videos were horrible. He was tied and half naked before he was beheaded. That was a painful way to die. They butchered him after collecting N6 million ransom.”

When contacted, the spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident and simply said “investigation is ongoing.”

The home of the sole administrator was invaded on Friday and he was abducted  alongside two others.

His country home at Imoko community in the Arondizuogu area of the LGA was razed by the assailants.

He was reportedly shot before he was taken away. However, there was no visible injury on him in the picture of him taken in captivity by the hoodlums.

His hands were tied to his back in the picture, and he could be seen kneeling down.
