Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has announced the appointment of Kabir Rufai as the new Managing Director of the State Water Corporation, KADSWAC. Muhammed Shehu, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sani, made this disclosure in a statement released to the press in Kaduna.
Rufai, a seasoned professional in engineering, holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and a Masters of Science in Water and Waste Engineering from Loughborough University, UK. With over three decades of experience in water supply services, including operations and maintenance, revenue generation, procurement, and project management, Rufai brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.
Prior to his appointment, Rufai served as the Project Coordinator for the Port Harcourt Water Supply and Sanitation Project, overseeing a significant infrastructure development initiative valued at $200 million. His extensive experience also includes various leadership positions within the Kaduna State Water Board, where he spearheaded multiple projects financed by international funding agencies such as the African Development Bank, Islamic Development Bank, and the World Bank.
Governor Sani expressed confidence in Rufai’s abilities and urged him to execute his duties with diligence, commitment to excellence, and dedication to service. Rufai succeeds Sanusi Maikudi as the Managing Director of KADSWAC, tasked with furthering the corporation’s mission of providing sustainable water supply services to the people of Kaduna State.
