In response to the communal clash between Ilobu and Ifon communities in Osun State, Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke has declared a curfew in the affected areas to restore law and order.

The official announcement of the curfew, conveyed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon Kolapo Alimi, is as follows:

The Osun State government has taken note of the communal conflict arising from a land dispute between Ilobu and Ifon Communities. Consequently, Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered an immediate curfew in the two affected Local Governments: Orolu and Irepodun local governments.

The curfew will be in effect from 8 pm every night until 6 am in the morning, with restrictions on both human and vehicular movement during this period until further notice. This measure is aimed at preventing loss of lives and property due to the ongoing land dispute.

It has been emphasized that anyone found wandering or moving around in Irepodun and Orolu local governments during the curfew hours will face arrest and appropriate prosecution.

Governor Ademola Adeleke has also called for peace and unity between these two local governments, urging them to embrace the values of peace, love, and unity for which the state is known.
