Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved boards, commissions, parastatals, and sacked all political appointees ahead of the end of his first term.
The Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti.
He said those affected include Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and Technical Assistants.
According to him, the move became necessary as the administration winds down its first term before the second term inauguration on October 16, 2026.
”The decision became imperative in view of the gradual winding down of the Governor’s first term in office, ahead of the inauguration of his second term scheduled for October 16, 2026,” the statement said.
Oyebode however said chairmen and members of statutory boards are exempted from the dissolution.
He listed them as the State Independent Electoral Commission, Civil Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission and Judicial Service Commission.
He added that governing councils of all state-owned tertiary institutions also remain intact in line with earlier directives.
Similarly, chairmen of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Local Government Service Commission and Teaching Service Commission will remain in office, although their boards stand dissolved.
Directors-General and Technical Advisors to the Governor are also not affected.
The governor thanked the affected appointees for their contributions to the administration and wished them success in future endeavours.
