Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has removed six of his appointees and suspended the Chairman of the House of Assembly Service Commission in a move aimed at enhancing efficiency and improving service delivery within the state government.
The decision was communicated in a statement on Tuesday by Mr Samuel Jatau, Secretary to the State Government, SSG, in Jos.
According to Jatau, the action is part of ongoing efforts to reposition the administration for better performance.
The officials affected by the sack include:
Mr Timothy Golu, Special Adviser on Strategic Communication
Mr Fom Gwottson, Liaison Officer, Jos South
Mr Nanbol Rimvyat, Liaison Officer, Langtang North
Mr Nannim Langyi, Liaison Officer, Langtang North
Mr Paul Datugum, Liaison Officer, Qua’an Pan
Mr Nimchat Rims, Liaison Officer, Langtang South
Also, Mr Johnbull Shekarau, Chairman of the House of Assembly Service Commission, was suspended over conduct deemed inconsistent with the standards of his office.
The SSG instructed all affected officials to hand over government properties in their possession to the appropriate authorities.
Jatau noted that Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation for the contributions of the dismissed and suspended officials, wishing them success in their future endeavours.
“The governor remains committed to ensuring a highly effective and accountable administration, and this exercise forms part of efforts to achieve that goal,” the statement added.
