    Gov Inuwa appointment Gombe varsity Vice Chancellor

    Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of Professor Sani Ahmad Yauta as substantive Vice Chancellor of Gombe State University (GSU).

    This followed the recommendation of the institution’s Governing Council on the appointment of a new GSU Vice Chancellor to replace the outgoing.

    This development was contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.

    The Commissioner for Higher Education, Muhammad Shettima Gadam conveyed the Governor’s approval.

    Professor Sani Yauta, a seasoned Academic and Administrator, is expected to bring renewed energy and leadership to GSU as the institution continues its drive for academic excellence, research innovation, and infrastructural development.

    In a related development, the Governor has also approved the appointment of Principal Officers for the College of Education and Legal Studies (COELS), Nafada in acting capacities, with immediate effect.

    The appointments are in accordance with the College of Education and Legal Studies Law, 2021, Section 20, Sub-section 2, which empowers the Governor to make such appointments.

    Those appointees are Dr. Dauda Mohammed (Acting Provost), Aishatu Mahmud Aliyu (Acting Registrar) and Ahijo Usman Mohammed (Acting Bursar).

    These appointments are in line with the Governor’s commitment to strengthening leadership in the state’s tertiary institutions and ensuring smooth administrative and academic operations.
