Gospel musician Dele Agbeyo, popularly known as Dele Gold, has died. The renowned “Miliki Gospel King” from Usi, Ekiti State, and raised in Faforiji, Osun State, passed away on Wednesday following a brief illness.
His death has been confirmed by several colleagues in the gospel music community. Titi Oguntoyinbo expressed her shock on Facebook, stating, “Lord, this is a rude shock to me, hmmm.” Akinlabi Major also took to social media, posting, “Let someone tell me this is not true. RIP Dele Gold.” On Instagram, Alayo Melody Singer shared his disbelief: “Dele Gold Kee??? Ahh, this is getting too much ooo!!! May God help us stop untimely deaths. Dele Agbeyo, may your soul rest well.” Wonder Doyin Kujore reflected on Facebook, “Nothing is in this world; let us live today and leave tomorrow for God. I find it difficult to post about people who die prematurely because it saddens my heart, but I just have to pay my last respects here. Hmm… this life is full of vanity. Rest on, Dele Agbotikuyo, Dele Gold.”
Dele Gold was renowned for his music and his collaboration with Juju music legend Ebenezer Obey on an album in 2019. His passing comes shortly after the death of fellow gospel artist Aduke Ajayi, known as Aduke Gold, who died last month while undergoing treatment for cervical cancer.
