Galatasaray intensify Osimhen talks with £14m wage

    Published on

Galatasaray are still in talks with Napoli to convince them about the transfer of Victor Osimhen after reaching a verbal agreement with the Nigerian striker on a four-year deal with an annual salary of £14m.

The Turkish giants have recently opened up to paying the full €75m release clause in Osimhen’s Napoli contract, but they still need to provide guarantees to convince the Partenopei to sell.

As reported by Matteo Moretto, Galatasaray would not pay the €75m release clause at once, offering to pay it five times.

According to reports, the proposal does not correspond to the payment release of the clause but it remains to be seen whether Napoli club will accept this formula or will continue to demand the full and immediate payment.

Galatasaray have been pushing to sign Osimhen permanently following an overwhelmingly successful loan spell in Istanbul during the 2024/25 season.

The Nigeria international was sent on loan from Napoli and ultimately enjoyed an immensely successful run at Galatasaray.

With 37 goals and eight assists in 41 games, Osimhen was a key driver in helping the Istanbul-based side with the Super Lig and the Turkiye Kupasi for the Turkish domestic double.

The club’s vice-president Abdullah Kavukçu has been in Italy to discuss the move further, and as a result, the club have decided to move forward by paying the full €75m release clause.

For Osimhen, the 26-year-old is looking all set to make his temporary loan spell with Galatasaray permanent, having seen his Premier League ambitions fade without formal offers from clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.

He also turned down mega offers from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Osimhen has agreed to a four-year contract with Galatasaray that will see him earn around £14m per season.

It’s understood that the deal is all in place, just waiting for the documentation to go through before Osimhen can officially be announced as a permanent signing.
