    Funke Akindele Teases New Film ‘Finding Me’ on Instagram

    Funke Akindele, one of Nollywood’s most renowned filmmakers, has announced her upcoming film titled ‘Finding Me’ through a series of intriguing transition videos shared on her Instagram account.

    In the videos posted on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Akindele teased fans with snippets of her and other popular actors transitioning from formal suits to traditional attire, culminating in a shot featuring the film’s logo emblazoned on a t-shirt.

    ‘Finding Me’ will be produced under The Funke Akindele Network (FAAN), Akindele’s production company known for delivering quality content. While the announcement has generated excitement among fans, specific details about the film’s plot and release date are yet to be revealed.

    This announcement comes hot on the heels of Akindele’s previous revelation about her upcoming project, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa,’ a spinoff from her iconic Jenifa franchise scheduled for release in December 2024. Akindele’s return to the beloved character has been eagerly anticipated by fans, as indicated by her Instagram post captioned, “Been long you saw Jenifa!!!!”

    Akindele’s track record in the Nigerian film industry speaks for itself, with notable achievements such as producing the highest-grossing film in Nigeria, ‘A Tribe Called Judah,’ which amassed over ₦1.4 billion in revenue. Additionally, her films ‘Battle on Buka Street’ and ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’ hold the titles for the second and third-highest-grossing films in Nigeria, respectively, further solidifying her status as a powerhouse in the industry.

    With five wins at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), including accolades for her roles in ‘The Return of Sheri Koko,’ ‘Jenifa’s Diary,’ and ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga,’ Akindele’s talent and contributions to Nigerian cinema continue to be celebrated and recognized on both local and international stages.
