In commemoration of the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child and the 20th Anniversary of the Nice Esther for all Foundation (NEFAF), the Nice Esther for all Foundation and the Nice Esther Alamieyeseigha Rescue Initiative (NEARI) presented sustainable education insurance covering six years academic sessions to 56 primary and secondary school beneficiaries in Amassoma Community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area Bayelsa State.
Speaking at the event, founder, Nice Esther for All Foundation (NEFAF) High Chief Dr. Mrs Nice Tobolayefa Alamieyeseigha the (Ebimiere Ogboin) said the project was in line with the ideals of Sen. Douye Diri Executive Governor of Bayelsa State in entrenching educational prosperity in the grassroots adding that the foundation desires to extend the educational opportunity to the eight local government areas of Bayelsa State and beyond as their bench mark is to empower 1,000 beneficiaries in her 500 million naira education investment project to be covered in the scheme .
Alamieyeseigha added that the program is uniquely designed in order to secure the educational future of beneficiaries even if the foundation ends or in the face of any unforeseen circumstances to avoid the beneficiaries dropping out of school they partnered with Lead way Insurance Company to ensure beneficiaries of the scheme are fully covered by the Insurance Company for the next six years of their academic journey including accident insurance should there be any accident during the course of their education calling for more partners to join hands with the NGO to achieve this laudable initiative.
Dr. Alice Atuwo Executive Secretary Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) who was the Special Guest of Honour at the event represented by Mrs Queen Tubolayefa Indiamowei commended Dr. Nice Alamieyeseigha for the innovative project pledging the readiness of the EDTF to partner the foundation to spread the initiative to touch more lives in Bayelsa State.
In his remark, Member representing Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 at the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Felix Bonny Ayah represented by Hon. Douyi Fyne thanked the foundation for taking-off the initiative in Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 precisely in Amassoma Community promising to work closely with the founder to bring the project before the Bayelsa State House of Assembly to ensure the expansion of the project to spread across the eight Local Government Areas of the State to help more families benefit especially in the face of the current harsh economic realities.
A community leader, Mrs. Juliana Osakeme on behalf of the Community prayed for God Almighty to bless Chief Dr. Mrs Nice Alamieyeseigha for lifting the academic burden of their children off their shoulders especially in this difficult times.
High point of the event was presentation of the sustainable education insurance cheques for six years to beneficiaries amidst celebrations.
