Forest in talks with Emmanuel Dennis over mutual contract termination

Nottingham Forest are in talks with Emmanuel Dennis over the mutual termination of his contract, with the Nigerian international no longer part of Nuno Espírito Santo’s plans.

The discussions, revealed by Sky Sports News, come as Forest continue efforts to streamline their squad before the close of the summer transfer window.

Dennis, 27, joined Nottingham Forest from Watford in 2022 after a standout Premier League campaign in which he registered 10 goals and six assists for the Hornets.

Despite the high expectations, the striker has been unable to reproduce that level of impact at the City Ground.

In his debut season, Dennis featured in 25 matches across all competitions, finding the net only twice.

Most of his appearances came from the bench, with the forward failing to establish himself as a regular starter.

Since then, Forest have opted to send him on loan, with spells at Istanbul Basaksehir, Watford, and most recently Blackburn Rovers.

His stint at Ewood Park proved particularly challenging, producing seven appearances without a goal and a dismissal against Norwich City.

Now out of favour under Espírito Santo, Dennis has not played in competitive games for Forest since the 2022-2023 campaign.

The club is seeking to move him off the wage bill, while a termination would allow the player to explore opportunities as a free agent before the transfer window closes.
