FHA debunks misconduct allegations against MD

    Published on

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) management has responded to allegations of misconduct made by staff members against the Managing Director of the authority, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo.

The allegations, include claims of abuse of office and bragging about being “untouchable.”

The FHA management in their response, a copy which was made available to our Correspondent, dismissed these allegations and described it as baseless and unfounded, attributing them to disgruntled individuals and those who have been affected by the management’s efforts to curb fraudulent activities.

The management’s response highlights the following points: The management, led by Ojo, has introduced innovations that have blocked channels of nefarious activities in the FHA.

The allegations are attributed to attention seekers, disgruntled persons, and those who have been affected by the management’s efforts to curb fraud and land grabbing.

The FHA management has criticised the reporting style of Sahara Reporters, characterising it as “yellow journalism” that lacks substance and facts.

“While management would have ignored this piece of irresponsible journalism, it is has however become pertinent to inform the general public of the antics of attention seekers, disgruntled persons, league of fraudsters and land grabbers, whose channels of nefarious activities in Federal Housing Authority have been blocked by the innovations brought by management led by Hon Oyetunde Ojo in one year in office.

“A read through the article exposes spurious and ‘wishy – washy’ contraptions that cannot be substantiated, it is an epitome of yellow journalism, a genre which the writers are known for.

“For the records, on assumption of office on 16 February 2024, Hon Ojo was far from pleased with what he met in the Authority. He was disappointed that FHA was still operating analogue in the 21st century, a system that created the loopholes for the many sharp practices prevalent then in the Authority.

“By 1st of May 2024, he launched FHA’S digitisation and ended all analogue operations of the Authority’s property files. This new era not only ended the incessant loss of property files, double allocations and forgery but ensured the protection of property documents and increased the speed of service delivery.

“Management under him immediately embarked on land drive and acquisition, and has visited 28 states of the country where lands have been acquired, and in most cases free of charge and compensations paid while it is worthy to note that 95% of the visits were done by road,” he said.
