The Managing Director of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, Dr. Emeka Agbasi has been commended for Road infrastructure Transformation and Economic Boost in Nigeria. He was described as one of the most suitable choices by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, administration in his successful One Year Anniversary in office.

The commendation was made by Ambassador Mahmud Abubakar a convener, Concern Nigerian Youths for good Governance (CNYGG) on Tuesday in Abuja. According to him, Nigeria, a nation with a population of over 200 million, heavily relies on roads as the most affordable and accessible means of transportation.

Ambassador Abubakar added that this has resulted in significant pressure on our roads, causing considerable damage to them. As a result, the Nigerian government established the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in 2002 with the aim of maintaining federal roads across the country.

This He said, It is undeniable that FERMA has achieved success over time, but the current progress made in maintaining the standard of our federal roads can be attributed to the commitment of its new Managing Director, Dr. Emeka Agbasi in just six months.

In his statement, Abubakar said, Dr. Agbasi has demonstrated his expertise gained from his time at the United Kingdom highway agency by significantly improving federal roads in Nigeria. This is the first time such a feat has been accomplished.

“under his leadership, over 5910.05 kilometers of federal roads have been restored, and 15,947.53 kilometers have been made accessible to motorists, benefiting both commuters and transporters. Additionally, his efforts have resulted in the creation of 25,051 jobs, contributing to economic growth”.

He said, the “Operation Connect Your Destination” initiative has notably improved the condition of federal roads, making travel easier for commuters and reducing traffic congestion. The National Assembly has recognized and hailed Dr. Agbasi’s achievements, encouraging further initiatives such as “Connect to Your Farm” to support agriculture in the country.

Ambassador Abubakar Added that the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s one year in office cannot be fully acknowledged without mentioning the remarkable impact of his appointees, such as the Managing Director of FERMA, Dr. Emeka Agbasi. We challenge any skeptics to verify the record we have outlined, as facts are sacred and cannot be distorted.

He said among all appointees of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, one of the prominent one that have been up and doing in making sure the Hope of Nigerians are Renewed and have been steadfast in making sure the mantra is protected is Dr. Agbasi and as we celebrate the 1 year anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, we must commend all efforts and success of Dr. Emeka Agbasi, the MD of FERMA which under him lots have been recorded in terms of Road Rehabilitation and many other things to enhance living of Nigerians.
