For Dr Kevin Ike, a Director and Fourth Degree Knight of St Mulumba, (KSM), his retirement from the Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), last Friday was remarkable in many ways.

First, his exit from the Civil Service coincided with his 60th birthday which he decided to celebrate modestly with the inmates of an orphanage last Saturday.

So, in company with his amiable wife, Lady Evangeline Ike, whom he shares the same birthday and a couple of family friends stormed St Mary’s Home For Orphans and Destitutes in Gwagwalada, Abuja with food items to celebrate with the inmates.

On hand to receive the two Celebrants, and the visitors was Rev Sister Ifeoma Rosita Nwanedo in charge of the Orphanage who expressed appreciation for the visit and even asked the kids to pray with and sing for the Celebrants.

On his part, Dr Ike said he was full of gratitude to God for sparing his life and keeping him fit, strong and healthy in the past 35 years that he worked in government and eventual retirement as a director.
