Finidi George, the head coach of Enyimba, exudes confidence in his team’s ability to clinch victory in the inaugural CAF African Football League.

Enyimba, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League, has secured a spot among the eight participating teams in the inaugural edition of this prestigious competition. The Aba giants are set to face Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in the quarterfinals next month.

The tournament features formidable opponents such as multiple African champions Al Ahly from Egypt, Esperance from Tunisia, Simba from Tanzania, TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa.

Despite the formidable competition, Finidi remains optimistic about Enyimba’s chances. He stated, “Enyimba is a renowned club and will continue to be so. We have consistently performed well on the continental stage, and sometimes, luck was not on our side. I believe we can emerge victorious in the African Football League. It will be a challenging journey, but it’s achievable.”
