Valentine Ozigbo, frontrunner in the 2025 Anambra Governorship race has extended warm wishes to Muslim faithful in Nigeria, congratulating them on the successful completion of Ramadan fasting and Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The multiple-award-winning Global CEO said this in his 2025 Eid-el-fitr congratulatory message to felicitate with Muslims on Sunday, March 30, 2025, emphasising the importance of unity, peace, and tolerance among all citizens, regardless of religious beliefs.
Ozigbo highlighted that these values are essential for building a strong and harmonious society where everyone feels respected and included.
He urged them to imbibe the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who taught that true faith leads to peace, both within oneself and with others.
A globally recognised peace advocate noted that the prophet’s teaching emphasised virtues like love, forgiveness, and justice while advocating for peaceful conflict resolution and tolerance of different communities.
Ozigbo said these lessons are important to hold together the unity and diversity of our country at this time of heightened tension among different ethnic nationalities.
Ozigbo urged the Muslim faithful to sustain the spirit of Ramadan and maintain piety in all their dealings with fellow citizens. His message of unity and tolerance resonated with the Muslim community and fostered a sense of goodwill and togetherness among people of different faiths.
“I sincerely join Nigerian Muslims to celebrate the 2025 Eid-el-fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. As you make merry on this joyous day, I pray that Almighty Allah will accept our prayers, fasting, and supplications during the holy month and beyond,” he said.
“I implore us to remember the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who encouraged his followers to live in peace and harmony with their neighbours regardless of differences in religion, ethnicity or language.”
To show his solidarity on this day of celebration, Ozigbo joined the Muslim community at the Enugu Central Mosque for Eid prayer on Sunday.
The APC chieftain used the occasion to engage fruitfully with various leaders and advocate for peaceful relations among them.
The renowned philanthropist also paid Sallah homage to some community leaders, where he pledged his support for them and vowed to consistently champion ideas that foster unity and shared prosperity.
Receiving Ozigbo and his delegation, Alhaji Garba Suleiman Haruna, the Sarkin Hausawa of Enugu and head of the Muslim community in Enugu State, commended the renowned leader for taking time to celebrate with Muslim faithful.
Also on hand to welcome Ozigbo was Mr. Mamman Giwa, the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, who appreciated the business mogul for showing solidarity with Muslims celebrating the end of the Ramadan fast.
In Awka, simultaneously, leaders of the Valentine Ozigbo Campaign Organisation paid a similar visit to the Muslim community in Anambra State.
Representing Ozigbo, Chief Chidi Ogbaji, Chairman of the VCO Advisory Council and Chief Tony Offiah, a member of the VCO Advisory Council, made donations to the Muslim community after visiting the Awka Central Mosque.
Sarkin Hausawa Alhaji Yusuf Sambo, who welcomed the delegation, thanked Ozigbo for his continuous engagement with the Muslim community in Anambra which dates back to before his 2021 Anambra governorship election.
Ozigbo, the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, expressed his admiration for the community’s contribution to the economic development and peace of the state, urging them to remain consistent and committed to doing good in the community.
In return, the community prayed for Ozigbo’s success in his quest to transform the state, seeking God’s blessing and favour for his endeavours.
They also pledged their full support for the APC aspirant, encouraging him not to relent on his efforts.
