The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has initiated an investigation into two operatives accused of assaulting a woman during a raid at a hotel in Lagos. The EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, announced on Monday in Abuja that a disciplinary committee has been established to address the incident.

The Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, formed the disciplinary team to investigate the actions of the officers involved in the assault on a female employee of the Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos. The officers were captured in a viral video during the early morning raid last Thursday.

“Olukoyede ordered the arrest of the two officers and has directed them to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team comprising the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) and the Department of Ethics and Integrity. They are scheduled to appear before the team on Monday, July 1, at the Corporate Headquarters of the Commission in Abuja,” Oyewale stated.

The team will review the case and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures for the officers’ unprofessional conduct. The EFCC chairman emphasized the importance of holding the officers accountable for their actions and ensuring transparency throughout the investigation.
