    Easter: Police Launches Operations Udo Ga-Chi – Zero Kidnapping, Other Crimes

    Joint security agencies in Anambra state have set up a formidable force against crimes in the State code-named *Operations Udo Ga Chi – Zero Kidnapping and other violent crimes in the State.

    Police Command spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga on Saturday said the decision was a fallout from a meeting between Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu and Service Commanders in the state.

    He said the initiative is aimed at preventing all violent and/or related crimes, especially kidnapping, by ensuring safer environment for residents and visitors during the Easter period and beyond.

    He said, “The Service Commanders led by the Police in a close meeting at the Office of the State Commissioner of Police unanimously set up a formidable force against crimes in the State code-named “Operations Udo Ga Chi – Zero Kidnapping and other violent crimes in the State”

    “The timing of this operation, coinciding with the Easter season celebrations, underscores the Security Force’s dedication to maintaining peace and security during festive periods and beyond.

    “This initiative aims to prevent all violent and/or related crimes, especially kidnapping, by ensuring a safer environment for residents and visitors during this Easter period and beyond.

    “The Operations shall focus on Community engagement, working closely with the public to gather intelligence and prevent crimes, fostering trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the community.

    “It is also a commitment to a proactive policing strategy, that is community-based and community driven to tackle security challenges in Anambra State.

    “To this end, the CP noted that by working together, the Police aims to create a safer and more secure environment for all.”

    The State Service Commanders comprised the Army from 302 Artillery Regiment (GS), the Navy from the Naval Outpost, Department of State Security (DSS) as well as Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

    Others were Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Customs and Anambra State Vigilante.
