Democrats accuse Trump of blocking full release of Epstein Files

    Published on

Allegations of a renewed cover-up over the Jeffrey Epstein files intensified on Sunday as Democrats accused President Donald Trump of blocking the full release of documents to protect himself.

Victims of Epstein expressed outrage after records released on Friday were heavily redacted, with censored pages and removed photographs.

Several images were withdrawn after publication, including one featuring Trump.

“It’s all about covering up things that, for whatever reason, Donald Trump doesn’t want to go public — either about himself, members of his family, or friends,” Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin said on CNN’s State of the Union.

The documents released by the Department of Justice included photographs of former president Bill Clinton and celebrities such as Mick Jagger and Michael Jackson.

However, extensive redactions and claims of missing files fuelled renewed calls for transparency in a case long surrounded by conspiracy theories.

The DOJ said the redactions were necessary to protect victims.

“Photos and other materials will continue being reviewed and redacted consistent with the law, in an abundance of caution,” the department said.

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie also demanded full disclosure, saying, “They’re flouting the spirit and the letter of the law.”

A 60-count indictment allegedly involving influential figures has yet to be released, he added.
