The Senator representing Ebonyi South zone at the National Assembly, Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani, has said that the Wilberforce Chuba Okadigbo International Airport at Onueke in Ebonyi would boost the standard of the state in every ramification upon commencement of operation.

He disclosed this to newsmen in a statement signed and made available to journalists in Abakaliki, adding that the Wilberforce Chuba Okadigbo Airport scheduled to begin operation any moment from now would equally connect the state to other parts of the globe, and, thereby, applauded the state governor, Rt Hon. Francis Nwifuru for the achievement in the aviation sector.

“The governor who is enthusiastically developing the state has affected every aspect of life positively within his first two years in office and for having standardized the airport runway and carried out finishing touches in other parts of the landing field are exceptional feats of his administration.” he said.

The federal lawmaker further disclosed that the International Airport cargo section, if established, would be extremely useful for exportation of the enormous agricultural produce and solid minerals in the state and applauded the Ministry of Aviation and other relevant agencies for their contributions.

Senator Ani commended the governor through the state Ministry of Aviation over the intention to make travel costs affordable by reducing the fares to N100,000 for Lagos and Abuja routes respectively.

“Ebonyi shall definitely surpass some of her contemporaries once the governor concludes all his plans involving enormous infrastructural and human capital developments across the state,” he added.

He praised United Nigeria Airlines for sustaining travelers’ confidence and for partnering with Wilberforce Chuba Okadigbo International Airport Onueke.
