A Chieftain of People Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra state, Comrade Ndubuisi Omile has expressed worry over lingering crisis in the party despite series of reconciliatory meetings over the years in the state.
He identified Chief Chris Uba as immediate solution to the crisis
Speaking to reporters in Awka, Omile who was President, National Union of Anambra State Students worldwide insisted that the national leadership should work towards reconciling all stakeholders in the state to give the party a face of acceptability.
He however warned that such could not be achieved without leaders like Uba who he described as the face of PDP in the state.
“I’m of the opinion that any reconciliatory meeting should be centered around Chief Chris Uba. He remains the face of PDP in Anambra despite the blackmail from the new comers whose interest is to grab position for extortion,” he added.
Omile who also served as former PDP Protocol Officer (Southeast Zone) urged the party to build around Uba to revive the dying party, expressing optimism that the party would bounce back and possibly win the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
“The state of the party in the state today has degenerated to extent that people are not interested in picking forms for the next governorship election in the state.
“Those allegedly piloting the affairs of PDP in the state does not have the required experience and financial muscles to push the party forward.
“Everywhere is calm, nothing is happening, as if PDP does not have structure in the state just because Chief Chris Uba is silent.
“All the leaders of this party have all moved out since the new takers took over, but Chief Uba remains with the party.
“I urge our party to build around him (Uba) to once again revamp dying PDP in Anambra. I believe with him, we will bounce back and possibly win the gubernatorial elections.
Omile added, “I’ve been in this party for years with my late mum, Chief Mrs Mary Nkiruka Omile, who served as Ward Woman Leader, Local Government Woman Leader, 3 times state PDP Woman Leader, Anambra and 2 terms Southeast PDP Woman Leader. So hear the truth from me.
“Those who are struggling for positions today in the party can not move mountains; but Chief Uba can.
“I also call for a powerful inclusive caretaker committee to be setup in Anambra chapter of our great party that will unite and see to the success of the gubernatorial election.”
