    Buhari to boost power capacity before May 2023 – Adesina

    Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina said President Mohammadu Buhari is determined to enhance capacity and quality of power supply to Nigerians before May 2023 which is the terminal date for his administration. 

     Adesina ,who stated this during an interview with channels Television on Tuesday said government is making progress with power pact signed with Germán Energy giant Siemens, saying the Federal Government will do all that is required to achieve the objective of the power pact with Germán energy Firm

     The Presidential spoke person , who gave an insight into President Buhari’s engagements at the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 77)  holding in New York USA ,said ” We have an agreement with Siemens  ,which is making progress now.It was slower at one point but in the past couple of weeks,you saw different kinds of transformers and electricity equipment coming into the country”

    ” I can assured you that there is progress in the relationship we struck with Siemens ” he said.

    Adesina added ” President Buhari is determined that before he leaves in another eight months, there will be significant progress in delivering electricity and power to Nigerians and whatever it takes to do it ,he will do it”

    ” Nobody will deny that Nigeria has a power problem, particularly with electricity and it has been there. Successive administrations have battled that problem and they have not succeeded so we cannot begin to pretend that we don’t have that issue” he stated.

    ” But will this administration make some progress on that issue before it exits office? It sure will .that was why the Siemens deal came into being in the first place.

    DailyNewscraft.ng report that as acceptance factory test was witnessed out by Officials of FG Power, the operating vehicle for FGN / Siemens Power Pact preparatory to delivery of power transformers to boost transmission capacity in the country.

    Industry sources hinted that delivery of the transformers will begin to arrive Nigeria towards the end of the Year.
