Buhari – Nigeria’s economy, security in good shape under my watch

    Published on

Muhammadu Buhari, the immediate former president of Nigeria, has reaffirmed that his administration had a strong economy and strong security.

Buhari made the comments on Wednesday at his rural home in Daura, Katsina State, when hosting members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists’ Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel.

In particular, the former president stressed that the economy and security had much improved from their 2015 situation.

“Compared to our meeting in 2015, Nigeria’s economy and security have greatly improved under my administration,” Buhari stated.

“Things will continue to improve in Nigeria,” Buhari said, expressing his confidence that the nation would continue to profit from the advancements made under his leadership.

In June 2024, former Senator Shehu Sani claimed that President Buhari’s administration had worse levels of insecurity than the one led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a same vein, Shehu Gabam, the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), asserted in a September 2024 interview on Channels Television that Buhari had a worse economy than Tinubu.

According to the DAILY POST, Nigeria’s inflation rate has been steadily increasing in recent months, rising from 9.6% in 2015 to 34.80% in December 2024.
