A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has dismissed recent political violence as “blackmail tactics” aimed at damaging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election prospects.
Kwankwaso, who serves as Director of Finance at the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, was reacting to the attack on the convoy of ex-Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami and the disruption of an ADC meeting in Kaduna.
He alleged the incidents were “orchestrated attempts to tarnish Tinubu’s image” ahead of 2027, but insisted the president’s “scorecard will speak for itself,” citing ongoing infrastructure projects, improved security, and appointments of Northerners to strategic roles—including NSA Nuhu Ribadu and Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa.
“No amount of scheming will derail Tinubu,” he declared.
