Be creative, plan your future, NYSC DG urges Corps members

Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has urged Corps Members to be proactive, creative, and deliberate about their future.

During visits to orientation camps in Wannune, Benue State, and Keffi, Nasarawa State, he charged Corps Members to think outside the box, acquire skills, and position themselves as future employers through the SAED (Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development) programme.

He noted that many ex-Corps Members who embraced SAED in past years have successfully established businesses across Nigeria.

Nafiu also warned against unauthorized travel, especially at night, and advised Corps Members to seek NYSC approval before embarking on any trip.

In her camp report, NYSC Benue Coordinator, Mrs. Veronica Garba, stated that 1,576 Corps Members (724 males and 854 females) took the Oath of Allegiance. She commended their participation in SAED and other camp activities, and praised the strong synergy with security agencies for ensuring safety.

In Nasarawa, State Coordinator Mrs. Salamatu Muhammad reported a total of 2,138 registered Corps Members—1,388 from the state and 750 deployed from the FCT—were in high spirits and well-informed about SAED. She assured that the officials remained committed to guiding Corps Members toward nation-building.
