The Bauchi State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee has declared that it has taken over the party’s structure in the state, distancing itself from Governor Bala Mohammed and pledging loyalty to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the committee’s Chairman, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, alongside the Secretary, Safyanu Zubairu, said their appointment was duly approved by the PDP NWC under Abdulrahman Mohammed.
The committee commended members of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BOT), including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, for what it described as their commitment to constitutionalism and internal stability within the PDP.
The leaders insisted they would operate strictly within the law, warning against any attempt to intimidate or harm members of the caretaker committee or its supporters.
“Should anything untoward happen to any member or supporter of the party, the Governor of Bauchi State shall be held responsible,” Mohammed said.
They also cautioned individuals parading themselves as PDP national officers to desist, dismissing claims of INEC recognition as “media propaganda.”
