Barcelona Reject Arsenal’s €90M Bid for Raphinha, Demand €100M

Barcelona has rejected a €90 million bid from Arsenal for Brazilian winger Raphinha, insisting on a €100 million valuation for the 27-year-old star, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Raphinha, who has contributed 12 goals and 10 assists in just 17 appearances this season, is considered irreplaceable by Barcelona. Manager Hansi Flick has even handed him the captaincy, underscoring his importance to the team.

    ### Arsenal’s Renewed Interest

Arsenal’s interest in Raphinha reignites after their unsuccessful pursuit in 2022, when he chose Barcelona over the Gunners. Manager Mikel Arteta reportedly values Raphinha’s versatility and creativity, seeing him as an ideal fit for Arsenal’s attacking setup.

However, Arsenal’s transfer policy, which often prioritizes younger or more affordable players, could pose a challenge. With Raphinha turning 28 next month, the club may hesitate to make such a significant financial commitment.

    ### Barcelona’s Stance

Barcelona has made it clear they will not entertain offers below €100 million. Reports suggest the club views Raphinha as pivotal but could consider selling for an astronomical fee to fund moves for players like Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.

Arsenal’s next steps remain uncertain, particularly as the club currently lacks a sporting director. Speculation points to PSG’s Luis Campos as a potential candidate to fill the role, which could influence future transfer strategies.

For now, Barcelona remains firm in their desire to keep Raphinha, leaving Arsenal to decide whether to meet the Catalan club’s high valuation.
