In the latest development regarding the abduction of 287 students and teachers from LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School in Kuriga, Kaduna State, bandits have demanded a staggering N1 billion for their release. The deadline for the ransom payment has been set for March 27, 2024. According to reports, the perpetrators have made contact with a spokesperson for the families of the hostages, emphasizing the gravity of their demand. The community is in a state of distress, grappling with the enormity of the ransom and concerns about the safety of the abducted individuals. Security forces are actively involved in efforts to secure their release, as tension mounts in the region.
