The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) has urged the more than 17,000 of its members who were reportedly removed from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) to remain patient. ASCSN’s national president, Etim Okon, assured members during a news conference in Abuja that steps are being taken to rectify the situation.

Mr. Okon responded to reports of these removals and expressed concern that many legitimate civil servants were unaware of the verification process conducted by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation. He also noted that some government agencies had included names of personal assistants, special assistants, and ministers in the IPPIS portal.

To address these issues, a committee has been established in the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation. Mr. Okon encouraged those with genuine complaints to submit scanned copies of their documents to the provided email address. He also requested an extension of the one-week deadline given by the Head of Service, considering the complexity of the verification process.
