Arsenal Women FC made an exciting announcement on July 4th, revealing the signing of Alessia Mia Teresa Russo. The news was accompanied by a Nigerian 1970s Africafunk-AfroRock music track from Goddy Oku’s The HYGRADES, adding a vibrant touch to the announcement.
Prior to joining Arsenal, Russo had been the subject of two rejected world-record bids by United earlier in the year. However, she has now made the move to North London on a free transfer.
Russo boasts an impressive playing history, having represented Chelsea Women, Brighton & Hove Albion Women, and most recently United Women, where she left her mark by scoring 22 goals in 46 appearances.
As a forward, Russo has also showcased her talent on the international stage, representing England across various youth age group competitions. She has been part of the UEFA women’s championship-winning English national team, scoring 11 goals in 22 games.
The signing of Russo brings a new dimension to Arsenal Women FC, and fans eagerly anticipate her contributions to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
