Youth groups across Annang Land on Sunday took to the streets of Uyo Metropolis in a massive show of solidarity, declaring unwavering support and a vote of confidence in Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, pledging to stand by him through 2031.
The rally, which began at the Uyo Water Fountain along Nwaniba Road and ended at the Bureau of Political and Social Re-orientation, featured members of Afe Mkparawa Annang, Isong Annang Ethnic Forum, and the Ibom Consultative Forum, who said they were satisfied with Governor Eno’s achievements across the state.
Addressing Barr. Kufre Udosen, Special Adviser on Political and Social Re-orientation, Adede Uduakobong Akpan, President of Afe Mkparawa Annang, listed the rehabilitation of health centres, empowerment initiatives across the 31 LGAs, and housing support for widows and the vulnerable as evidence of the governor’s people-centred governance.
He praised Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, describing it as a blueprint that has ushered in “peace, prudence, and purposeful leadership.”
Also speaking, Prince Mendie Archibong, President of Isong Annang Ethnic Forum, dismissed opposition claims of underperformance, affirming that Eno’s inclusive leadership has brought peace and stability to Akwa Ibom. He urged citizens to unite behind the governor to sustain the ongoing transformation.
Similarly, Ndifreke Elijah, President of Ibom Consultative Assembly, pledged the group’s commitment to mobilize support for the governor across the state, commending his focus on grassroots empowerment and political stability.
Responding, Barr. Kufre Udosen lauded the groups for their civic engagement and support for good governance. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to citizens’ welfare through continued employment, empowerment, and community development initiatives.
The event climaxed with the presentation of a giant artistic portrait of Governor Umo Eno to the Special Adviser for onward delivery to the governor — a symbolic gesture of appreciation for his leadership.
