Anambra youths vow to resist attacks on Peter Obi

    Published on

Youths of Agulu community in Anambra State have warned politicians campaigning in the area against making derogatory or disparaging remarks about former governor of the state and Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

In a statement jointly signed by Maduagwu Eric-Kenny, Chairman of Agulu Youths, and Egoh Chamberlain, Secretary, the youths condemned what it described as “unfounded attacks” from desperate politicians seeking votes.

According to the statement, the youths observed with concern how some politicians, while canvassing for support in Agulu, mocked and provoked Obi, despite many of them having been direct beneficiaries of his generosity and support.

They described such conduct as shameful and unacceptable, vowing never to allow anyone, regardless of position or influence, to diminish Obi’s image.

The group emphasised that Obi’s name commands respect not only in Nigerian politics but also on the global stage.

They further declared that any future attempts to malign Obi in Agulu would be met with “organised, peaceful but resolute resistance.”

“Just as others guard their political titles with pride, the people of Agulu will continue to cherish and protect the name Peter Obi as an identity that opens doors across Nigeria and beyond.

“We therefore issue this unequivocal caution: any politician visiting Agulu for any purpose must refrain from making derogatory or disparaging remarks about our dear brother, Mr. Peter Obi. We reaffirm our commitment to defend Obi’s reputation ‘without compromise,’” the statement read.
