    AFCON 2025: Osimhen, Lookman, Bassey named in Best X1

    Three Super Eagles players, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Calvin Bassey have been named in the Team of the Tournament of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

    Eric Chelle’s side finished in third position in the competition.

    Osimhen scored four goals, and registered two assists for the Super Eagles at the AFCON 2025 finals.

    Lookman was more influential, with three goals, and five assists in six outings.

    Bassey was a rock in defence for the Super Eagles in Morocco.

    The Team of the Tournament was compiled by the Confederation of the African Football , CAF, technical study group.
