    AFCON 2023: Super Eagles Defeats South Africa to Qualify for Final

    The Super Eagles of Nigeria has defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa to qualify for the final match of 2023 Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON).
    The Super Eagles of Nigeria Secured their ticket to the final in penalty shoot-out, where they defeated South Africa 2 -1.

    The Super Eagles of Nigeria struggled with Bafana Bafana of South Africa throughout the first 45 minutes of the game but The first half of the game ended with a goalless draw.

    Victor Osimhen was fouled in the box which led to a penalty that was converted to a goal by W. Troost Ekong for Nigeria in the second half of the game to give the Super Eagles a lead in the 67 minutes.

    The second half ended with after T. Mokoena converted a penalty to goal in the 90th minute to make the scoreboard 1 – 1.

    There was no goal in the extra time which led to penalty shoot out.
    The penalty shoot out ended with 2-1 in favour of Nigeria.

    Super Eagles has qualified for the final of the 2024 AFCON which is scheduled to be played on Sunday 11th of February 2024 at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpé.
